TELESCOPIC JIB ATTACHMENT FORKLIFT-A forklift jib is a SPECIAL type of attachment for forklifts. Forklift jibs are designed ATTACH securely and easily onto forklift tines. These jibs have a hook at the end for quick lifting to the load.
Purpose of a forklift jib
The prime purpose of a forklift jib is to comfortably attach to, lift, and transport a load with a forklift. it supplements and compliments forklifts, converting them inch mini cranes and increasing their productivity and utilization. A forklift jib can be used in warehouses, workshops and factories, and can be custom made to suit a particular application or repetitive workplace task.
TELESCOPIC JIB ATTACHMENT FORKLIFT-The most common types are:
- Fixed Forklift Jib – these are best for repetitive tasks where adjustments are not needed.
- Extendable forklift jib – able to be extended to certain lengths, telescope style. Each length will have a different working load limit.
- Adjustable forklift jib – able to adjust to different angles. Different angles will have an impact on the working load limit of the forklift jib.
Working load limit of a forklift jib
Forklift jibs are made to a certain working load limit (WLL) e.g. 2 tonne. The weight of the load must not exceed this working load limit. The working load limit will be clearly displayed on the forklift jib. It is important to remember that a working load limit can be decreased when an adjustable jib is extended, or positioned at an angle.
